Liverpool is one of my favourite cities in the UK for a weekend break. It's vibrant, has a wonderful history and I've always had a lot of fun when visiting. At Dreamers who Travel we are all about having fun when we travel!
Historically Liverpool was known for its docks as a gateway for the import and exports to and from the UK. It's also known for its two football teams and of course, its most famous sons, The Beatles.
Here are 5 fun things you can do on your visit to Liverpool:
1 - The Royal Albert Dock - The UNESCO World heritage waterfront of the Royal Albert Dock is a fantastic place to head for food and drinks with some great restaurants. When you're there make sure you try Madre for lunchtime tacos.
2 - The Beatles Story - A trip to Liverpool wouldn't be complete without a trip down memory lane, learning about the history of The Beatles. Located at the Royal Albert Dock, The Beatles Story takes you on their journey from Liverpool to conquering the world. There are also recreations of some of their famous locations like The Cavern Club and Abbey Road Studios. You can still visit real-life Cavern Club too!
3 - The Bombed Out Church - This is more of a summer experience but if it's there then the pop-up bar at the Bombed Out Church is unlike anything you will find elsewhere. The church itself has been left exactly how it was after it was bombed during the war and pop-up events such as a summer bar make great use of the space. It's something unique to enjoy a sit-down and a few drinks. We went a few times on our last visit as it was near our hotel.

4 - Football Tours - If you're a fan of football then the Liverpool FC Stadium Tour goes through the history of the club, allows you to go into the trophy room and behind the scenes of the stadium. You can also walk through Stanley Park to check out Goodison Park, home of Everton FC too!
5 - A Boat along the Mersey - Take a boat trip along the iconic river Mersey as the 50-minute River Explorer trip from Pier Head provides spectacular views of the UNESCO World Heritage Liverpool Waterfront.
Liverpool is somewhere to add to your list of UK city breaks, it has a vibrant nightlife and plenty of culture for through the day, it's a wonderful city for a 2 or 3-night stay.
