Recently I had a wonderful weekend in Lancaster staying at the Lancaster Castle View. It is a unique contemporary cottage that is the best place to stay in Lancaster for couples.
I booked the cottage through Airbnb and it was a fantastic find! It's on the grounds of Lancaster Castle within the castle conservation area. The castle is a landmark which you must visit and I would recommend taking one of their free tours. With free parking at the cottage, you can leave your car for the weekend and walk around historic Lancaster.
The best place to stay in Lancaster
On our visit, we were fortunate that the weather was beautiful which meant we could enjoy the lovely English cottage garden and outside seating.
inside the cottage, it's very modern and was purpose-built as a holiday home. The interior is bright and white with some wonderful prints on the walls. The kitchen is functional with a Smeg fridge, oven and all the kitchen essentials you need.
In the lounge, there is a TV and wood burner which would be perfect for a winter stay. There is a good amount of storage for the weekend.
One of the more unique aspects of the Lancaster Castle View is the "hidden" bed, behind a cupboard, which is certainly different!
The bathroom has a large copper bath with a waterfall shower. Everything is perfect for a couples weekend in Lancaster.
Within walking distance to the cottage, there are some great pubs, restaurants and shops. As well of course as Lancaster Castle.
Everything was easy with check-in and check-out plus the host checked in to make sure we were happy, which we were. With its views of the castle and peaceful surroundings, Lancaster Castle View really is a hidden gem.
